The original lyrics to Cardi B’s feature on “Motorsport,” the 2018 hit-single from the Migos, (as well as Cardi’s recent ex-husband and baby’s father, Offset and hip-hop diva adversary Nicki Minaj) went like this:
I get up, set off I turn Offset on I told him the other day
Man, we should sell that porn
Of course, now that Cardi B and Offset are no longer together, those lyrics become conspicuously obsolete. Not a problem to Cardi, who switched up her bars in witty form during the New York City Jingle Ball on Saturday night:
The new lyrics?
I get up, set off. I turn Offset on. I told him the other day,
Yeah, we gon’ get a divorce!
Oh snap, shots fired! But seriously, although Cardi’s lyrical ad lib may have not been a direct diss to Offset, the twenty-six-year old “Money” hip-hop queen certainly has been on her ex-husband’s mind:
FUCK YALL I MISS CARDI
— OFFSET (@OffsetYRN) December 9, 2018
Also interesting to note: during the New York City Jingle Ball performance Cardi was seen without her 8-carat diamond wedding ring, suggesting that this split is for real.
What do you think of the whole Cardi B/Offset situation? Is there still a chance for reconciliation?
