As he states in his staggeringly popular (and viral sensation, thanks to the “Shiggy Challenge”) “In My Feelings” song:
“‘Cause I’ve been goin’ off and they don’t know when it’s stoppin’”
The Champagne Papi train continues to move full steam ahead as both Spotify and Apple Music announced Tuesday that the rapper was the most streamed artist of 2018 globally on their respective platforms. Spotify’s Top 2018 list revealed Drake as “the world’s most-streamed artist, with more than 8.2 billion streams this year,” topping other artists such as Post Malone, J Balvin and Ed Sheeran. He also had two of the most streamed songs of the year in the Top 5, with “God’s Plan” at #1 and “In My Feelings” at #5. His album “Scorpion” was the most streamed album of the year as well.
The story wasn’t much different with Apple Music, where Drake was also the most streamed artist, with “God’s Plan” as the most popular single, “Nice For What” as the second most popular and “Scorpion” as top album.
Can Drake follow up his immensely successful 2018 with a comparable one in 2019? Let us know in the comments.
