It’s been hard to escape Nicki Minaj lately, between the release of her first LP in four years Queen to her increasingly intense feud with fellow female rapper Cardi B. Today, Barbie’s got another earworm for you to get stuck on, with the release of the music video for “Barbie Dreams.”
The video sees Nicki in a variety of colorful outfits and wigs, and, for some reason, a bunch of off-brand Muppets. The song itself samples (and pretty directly pays homage to) Biggie Smalls’ “Just Playing (Dreams),” and shouts out many different rappers — often in less than flattering ways, including lines like:
“Drake worth a hundred milli, he always buyin’ me s**t / But I don’t know if the p***y wet or if he cryin’ and s**t”
“Used to f**k with Young Thug, I ain’t addressin’ this s**t / Caught him in my dressing room, stealin’ dresses and s**t”
Young Thug responded to the lyric upon the album’s release on Twitter:
@NICKIMINAJ I’m not good luv… but enjoy😪
